***CSBA:SESSIONS are an interactive and informal information exchange amongst an intimate group of CSBA members and a guest facilitator. Pre-registration required***

Speak candidly with Ald. Flores & your colleagues at this exclusive members-only luncheon. As the 1st ward faces rapid development, Ald. Flores has taken the challenge to spur economic development that retains the neighborhoods affordability and cultural history. Hear about some of the projects that he has undertaken, and other initiatives have been taken by local politicians to incoporate sustainability into their neighborhoods. Take advantage of this small group setting to discuss Manny Flores' path to becoming Alderman, decision making process for balancing social and environmental concerns, and serving a diverse crowd of constituents.

Alderman, 1st Ward
Alderman Manuel "Manny" Flores has represented the 1st Ward in the City of Chicago since 2003, and has distinguished himself as a champion of progressive public policy, long-term community investment, and sustainable urban development. Sustainability initiatives Alderman Flores’ has undertaken include the Building Green in the First Ward program, the Refuse Rebate Recycling Requirement, and working with a planning team on the Addison Industrial Corridor redevelopment project. The Corridor will be a green manufacturing district where the Green Exchange will open its doors and provide jobs for the mixed-income workforce housed at Lathrop Homes. Lathrop Homes is a plan Alderman Flores has been developing with the Chicago Housing Authority to create the nation’s first ever LEED certified public housing project.
